Tamarack is a 60-day residential, group-therapy-based, second stage addictions treatment centre located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. It is operated as a 'not for profit' agency with partial coverage from a service purchase agreement with MB Health and Healthy Living.

From our founding in 1974, we have been dedicated to helping those who have recognized an addiction in their lives and decided to take the time to make a commitment to their recovery in Tamarack's carefully designed therapeutic community.

Tamarack is a non-denominational centre offering in-patient counselling services and group psychotherapy for people who have completed a primary addiction program or equivalent, and who are approximately 30 days clean and sober.

Using Person Centered Therapy, we build a strong therapeutic alliance with clients and then facilitate their making attitudinal, behavioural and lifestyle changes with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques and other counselling methods as needed.

Our clients attend Twelve Step groups to experience and foster the peer support necessary to remaining in recovery maintenance. Tamarack graduates are welcome to attend our weekly, no-cost, in-house Aftercare Program for as long as they feel the need.

As one of Manitoba's most established addiction treatment centres and the only second stage centre in the region, Tamarack is recognized by our primary treatment partners and Employee Assistance Program referral agents as one of the best residential  treatment and recovery resources available. Our not-for-profit status ensures that people do not have to travel to very costly out-of-province treatment facilities.
